I am a registered social worker with over 20 years of experience working with children, teens, parents, and school teams as a school social worker supporting positive mental health and development. I am passionate about helping people get a better handle on difficult emotions, tackle troublesome thoughts, improve relationships, and feel better about themselves. I believe that, by identifying and changing unhelpful thought and behaviour patterns, we can become “unstuck” and build inner strength.
In my practice, I meet clients where they are at and support them with empathy, respect and identity-affirming care, while creating a safe space to facilitate personal growth. I am skilled in treating anxiety, depression, and challenges related to stress, self-esteem, school experiences, self-regulation, emotional regulation, parenting, life transitions and changes, and interpersonal conflict. I offer individualized and effective therapeutic techniques and strategies to enhance coping skills and confidence through a variety of modalities including cognitive behaviour therapy, solution-focused therapy, psycho-education, mindfulness, and a collaborative, strengths-based approach. I believe that we can nurture resilience in ourselves and in our children to be able to face the challenges of life, and we can learn so much to add to our toolboxes throughout this journey. Let’s work together by setting goals, trying new things, and making positive changes that will have a lasting impact. |
